• Closes things by handover, not by exit.

False mark His remorse becomes the emergency that you must comfort.

• Says what he's working toward in one sentence.
• Can tell you the why beneath the what.
• Says no easily; each yes has a reason.
• Calm in small choices — the large ones are settled.

False mark Loud about where, vague about why; the hunger never rests.

• Does not over-promise.
• Arrives when he said he would.
• Does not need reminding twice.
• Keeps the appointments no one would catch him missing.

False mark Crosses a country for the gesture; forgets Tuesday's small ask.

• Changes what he says when he changes his mind.
• Does not flatter or perform agreement.
• His praise is information; his questions are care.
• Tells you about the spinach before the photo.

False mark Cruelty dressed as candour — “just telling it like it is.”

• Learns names, and uses them.
• Thanks the people others forget to thank.
• Notices who has been left out, and fixes it.
• The same temperature in every room.

False mark Warm to those who matter, curt to those who don't.

• Won't buy what he can't finish paying for.
• Generous in private, unflashy in public.
• Bills paid early; no running tab with loved ones.

False mark Spends loudest where it is seen; lets the unseen slip.

• Reads what he disagrees with.
• Admits ignorance without losing posture.
• A bookshelf wider than his career.
• Asks because he might be wrong — and sometimes is.

False mark Has concluded everything; asks what he already answered.
